UNIT 1 VOCABULARY

Here is some os the new vocabulary that we have seen in Unit 1:

-Social media:Platforms online that people use to comunicate

-Rug: Blancket for covering ground.

-Fish bowl: Container for fish pets.

-Sunbathe: Lie in sun, exposing skin.

-Cage: Enclosure box for an animal.

-Handle: Tool, object, place to grip.

-Backwards:Towards the rear:

-Whisper: Talk softly

-Curtain:Drapey for a window

-Fly: Flying insect

STARTER UNIT VOCABULARY

-Cardigan:A knitted sweater or jacket usually without a collar, that opens down the front.

-Upload:To transfer (software, data, character sets, etc.) from a smaller to a larger computer.

-Vase:A container or vessel, as of glass or porcelain, usually higher than it is wide, used to hold cut flowers or for decoration.

-Armchair:A chair with sidepieces or arms to support a person's forearms or elbows.

-Be crazy about:To love something more than all the other things

-Love:A deep, tender, passionate affection for another person, 

-Sweatshirt:A loose, long-sleeved, collarless, shirtlike piece of clothing of soft, absorbent fabric, commonly worn during athletic activity for warmth or to induce sweating.

-Hoodie:A hooded sweatshirt.

-Shelf/Shelves:A thin, flat slab of wood, metal, etc., attached horizontally to a wall or in a frame, for supporting objects.

PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY GLOSSARY UNIT 1

Abstract:A brief explanation in a few sentences of what you have researches and the main conclusions that you drew.

Accuracy:Of a tool is the smallest value it is capable of mesuring.

Accurate (adj):Close to the true value.

Article: A piece of writing in a magazine, newspaper, etc.

Drawing conclusions: Deciding on something after thinking about all information connected to it.

Hypothesis ( Hypotheses,pl): A suggested explanation for something that has not yet been proved to be true.

Margin of error: The amount by wich a measure can be wrong but still is a good value..

Point of the graph: Each pair of related values that we represent on the graph.

Socket: The place on a wall where you connect electrical equipment to the elctrical supply.

Report: Description of an event or situation or scientific work.

Variable: Each of the factors choose in your hypothesis.

Indeoendent variable: Variable whose value does not depend on another variable.

Dependent variable: Variable whose value depends on what we have set as the independent variable.
